This site is intended as a guide to the Flower Flies (family Syrphidae) found in Minnesota. The Minnesota species list has been assembled from a combination of sources: Horace Telford’s The Syrphidae of Minnesota (1939), John Haarstad’s online collection from Cedar Creek, citizen scientist observations from iNaturalist and Bugguide, and the recently published Field Guide to the Flower Flies of Northeastern North America (Princeton, 2019). Information found on these pages should be considered a work in progress.
